Kenny Chesney: You and Tequila review
Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past 17 years or so, you’ve at least heard of Kenny Chesney and his many, many hits. From the early hits of “Me and You” and “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy” to the latest hits “Somewhere With You” and “Live A Little”, its obvious that this man is music-making, entertaining powerhouse. His fourth single from “Hemingway’s Whiskey”, entitled “You and Tequila”, a duet with singer/songwriter Grace Potter, is sure to be another #1 single from Luttrell, Tennessee’s favorite son.
Personally, I think his and Grace’s vocals blend together rather well. Being a new fan of Miss Potter and her group, The Nocturnals, I believe that her sound is the little something that the song needs.
To be honest, the song had to grow on me before I really started to like it. Now, I find myself listening to it quite a bit these days. I find it very interesting whenever a country artist records a single with another artist from a different genre. The mixture of music backgrounds and vocal arrangements are often intoxicating. And this duet from Chesney and Potter is no different.
I give this new single from Kenny & Grace a 5/5. It definitely has potential to be on Mediabase and/or Billboard’s Top 10 and quite possibly another #1.
